We understand that animal testing is a key concern for a growing number of consumers. At Hairbond we can confidently state that all of our formulations are assessed for their safety and efficacy by independent consultants meeting the requirements set out by the EU Cosmetics Directive. Hairbond do not test on animals, do not use materials that contain animal derivatives that are unsuitable for vegetarians and only buy raw materials from companies that are not involved in the use of, or commission the use of, animals for testing and have no plans to do so in the future.

That said and because we want to be as clear as possible, it’s important to understand that no retailer or manufacturer can categorically state that ‘none’ of their raw materials or ingredients has, at some time in the past, been tested on animals. The majority of individual raw materials used in cosmetics have been through some kind of animal testing process. At Hairbond, we absolutely do not test our formulations on animals, however we can’t say that every ingredient that goes into them has not, at some point historically, been cleared for human use, by animal testing.

We personally believe that animal testing is not acceptable. We recognise that customer safety is of importance but that this can be assured without the use of animals. We uphold very strict guidelines through our regularly audited manufacturing partners that uphold the ‘no animal testing’ policy.
